| A native of Stockholm, Sweden, Gustave W. Forsberg was an easel and fresco painter during the Gilded Age, in Washington, DC. He came to America at the age of two. His business was titled: "G.W. Forsberg & Co, Fresco Painters," and in addition to fine residences, he worked on the decoration of the U.S. Capitol building under the elder Brumidi. At the time of his death he was a lieutenant in the Washington National Guard.
