A Philadelphia portrait and figure painter who died at age 25, Henry Fewsmith studied with John Neagle in Philadelphia and in Dusseldorf, Munich, Paris, and Rome.
He died in his Philadelphia studio on October 22, 1846, shortly after his return from Europe. ----------------------------------------------------------------------Note from Nelson Widell:
