| | Born in Toledo, Ohio on August 11, 1914. Fenton graduated from Santa Monica High School in 1930. He then studied at Chouinard Art Institute and in 1947 received his master’s degree from UCLA where he was greatly influence by Stanton MacDonald-Wright and Asian art.
