This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Known for figure painting, illustration, and his teaching abilities, Jack Faragasso was born in Brooklyn, New York and took his art training at the Art Students League in New York and the Woodstock Summer School with Frank J. Reilly. He spent a year in Europe, taking special interest in the Old Masters, and following that influence, his painting style is academic and representational.

As an illustrator, his work has appeared on hundreds of paperback covers, and as a teacher he has been at the Art Students League since 1968. He also taught at the Scottsdale, Arizona Artists School and the Frank J. Reilly School of Art.

Faragasso is a member of the American Society of Portrait Artists and the American Renaissance for the Twenty-first Century. He has written two books: "The Students Guide to Printing" and "Mastering Drawing the Human Figure from Life, Memory, Imagination" and illustrated hundreds of others.
