Jean Fouquet was born in Tours, in France, sometime between 1415 and 1420. He was considered the most famous French painter of the 15th Century. He was a Frenchman who learned to draw and paint in the great tradition of fine craftsmanship that distinguished the art of the northern countries He married in 1448. He spent some time in Italy in about 1447. From Italy, he had brought back the theories of perspective, which were still unknown to the French, plus a new concenption of space and a feelin (showing 500 of 1116 characters). |
