Born in Newark, New Jersey, John F. Flanagan was known for medallic art* and for his sculpture. He was a student of sculptors Truman Howe Bartlett, Boston; Augustus St. Gaudens, New York; Henry Chapu, Academy Julian*, Paris; and Alexandre Falguiere at the Ecole-des-Beaux-Arts*, Paris.
Flanagan was awarded various student medals at the Ecole-des-Beaux-Arts and the Academy Colarossi*, which he attended in Paris. He was a sculptor for the Eagles for the National Pavi (showing 500 of 5177 characters). |
