| Creating work from wood and found objects, John Frame makes sculpture that gives the impression of being grounded in human experience while maintaining a distance from reality. His background in theater, dance and literature is apparent as many of his pieces are like miniature stage sets.
He was born in San Bernardino and earned a BA from San Diego State University and an MFA from Claremont College. He settled in Los Angeles.
