| An engraver, portrait and landscape painter, clergyman, poet, architect, inventor, naturalist and missionary, Jonathan Fisher lived most of his life in Blue Hill, Maine. Many of his works remained there to be viewed by the public at the Parson Fisher House.
In 1792, he graduated from Harvard College and from 1796 to 1837, served as pastor of the Blue Hill Congregational Church. For most of his life, he also did creative artwork including a series of wood engravings showing the animals referenced in the Bible and watercolor and oil scenes of Blue Hill. He also did many drawings in ink and pencil
