| Painter. Born in Matthews, IN on Nov. 9, 1902. At age five Faivre moved with his family to Portland, OR where as a teenager he studied at the Portland Art Gallery and privately with Howard Ellis. He moved to Los Angeles in 1923 and worked as a freelance commercial artist and in the late 1920s went north to San Francisco. He first exhibited in 1934 at the Oakland Art Gallery and continued to exhibit throughout the San Francisco Bay area. During the early part of his career his oils and watercolor (showing 500 of 861 characters). |
