| Growing up on a cattle ranch in west Socorro County, New Mexico, Katherine Field became a painter known for western subjects, especially scenes with horses. She showed early art talent and was basically self taught, although she did correspond with Frank King, who published some of her drawings in his Los Angeles based "Western Livestock Journal." In this journal, many of her drawings accompanied poems by Bruce Kiskaddon. Field also had some instruction in Santa Fe from Will Shuster, and she exh (showing 500 of 2473 characters). |
