| Laurel Friedmann earned a BFA degree from Ohio State University. She also studied pastel figures with Dan Gheno at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts and Chinese brush painting with Chien Fei Chiang also at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts.
Friedmann teaches elementary school art near her home in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. She is a member of the Connecticut Pastel Society.
