A Utah landscape painter of Realistic, Fauve, and Expressionist styles,
Mabel Frazer was an early woman artist in the West who earned respect
both for the quality of her painting and for her skills as a long-time
faculty member at the University of Utah.
In her painting, she
used bold colors and imaginative designs, and she encouraged her
students to liberate themselves from confining realistic details and
from traditional romantic visions of the West.
She studied in
her ho (showing 500 of 8132 characters). |
