From Mount Holly, New Jersey, Margaret Paine Fisher was a miniaturist who was also the Director of the New York Society of Crafts. She spent time in Palm Beach, Florida, where she belonged to the Society of Four Arts. Her husband was Charles Fisher, and her parents were George and Drusilla Paine. George Paine was a harness maker. She was a descendant of Thomas Paine, Revolutionary War figure.
