| Born in Ottawa, Canada on April 16, 1878. Raised in an artistic milieu, Marie was the daughter of sculptor Achille Fréchette. She began her art studies in Ottawa and Montreal and continued in NYC with Kenyon Cox and Charles Hawthorne at the ASL, and in Paris with Lucien Simon and Mme. Laforge. After 1923 she appears to have divided her time between Ottawa and San Diego, CA. She died in the latter on July 14, 1964.
