| A painter, ceramist and founder in 1907 and teacher of the Southampton Summer Art School in Southampton, New York, Marshall Fry was a student in New York of William Merritt Chase, Arthur Dow, Henry Snell and in London of James Whistler and Frank Brangwyn.
Memberships included the National Arts Club, Salmagundi Club and Allied Artists of America, of which he was a founder.
Exhibition venues were the Corcoran Gallery and Pennsylvania Academy.
