Biography from Crocker Art Museum Store:
Portrait painter, illustrator, muralist, lithographer, etcher. Born in San Francisco, CA on Nov. 28, 1908. Finley was a graduate of UC Berkeley where she studied under Hans Hofmann. She was an art teacher at Los Angeles City College (1935-42), UCLA (1950), Occidental College (1950-51), and Chouinard Art Institute. Early in life she was Mrs. Jack Fry; she later married real estate broker Irvin C. Thomas. The artist was a resident of Studio City, CA until her demise on June 19, 1964. Member: Calif. WC Society. Exh: Painters & Sculptors of LA, 1932-38; LACMA, 1932, 1935, 1940, 1941, 1950; San Diego FA Society, 1934, 1940; Santa Cruz Art League, 1938; SFMA, 1939; AIC, 1939; Calif WC Society, 1939-55; Oakland Art Gallery, 1940; PAFA, 1941-48; Calif. State Fair, 1947, 1950 (awards). In: Orange Co. (CA) Museum.
