Maurice Freedman is represented in the permanent collections of the Carnegie Museum, Brooklyn Museum, City Art Museum of St. Louis, Denver Museum, Milwaukee Art Institute, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Ars, Los Angeles Art Museum, Minneapolis Institute of Art and La Jolla Museum.
He has exhibited in national exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum, Carnegie Institute, Whitney Museum, Pennsylania Academy, Art Institute of Chicago, Corcoran Gallery, Brooklyn Museum, Walker Art Center and Toledo Museum.
The artist was born in Boston, where he studied art for four years at the Massachusetts Normal School of Art and for a few months at the Boston Museum of Fine Art School. He alternated for several years between a New York studio and travel in various European countries, finally settling in New York, where his one has been seen in one man and group shows. He has been a member of the Midtown Gallery group of artists for several years. |
