| Born in Oakland, CA on Aug. 12, 1873. Nettie King lived in Eureka before settling in San Francisco at an early age. After studying art at the Mark Hopkins Institute (1893-99) she was active in the local art scene from the turn of the century. At her studio on Bush near Van Ness, she painted miniatures on ivory and porcelain. After marrying Joseph Firebaugh in 1910, she established a home in San Francisco at 643 Oak Street where she remained until her demise on July 8, 1960.
