| Born in Peewee Valley near Louisville, KY on Oct. 23, 1853. Octavia Miller attended the Boston Art School before moving to California in the 1870s. She married Captain Robert Howe Fletcher in San
Francisco in 1878 and, during the 1880s, a few years were spent in Los Angeles. While there, she further studied with Henry Chapman Ford in Santa Barbara. She died in Madrid, Spain on June 21, 1932.
