| Santa Fe artist Pamela Frankel Fiedler explores what lies behind the surface images of modern American culture. Working in a postmodern style that draws from American pop culture, Frankel Fiedler's oil canvases portray women in an exaggerated iconic world of glamour, neon and spotlights. The nakedness and vulnerability of the female figures are juxtaposed along side darker, stranger elements in the margins and shadows; sometimes visible, sometimes merely hinted at.
