Biography from AskART:
Artist, author, editor, teacher and book reviewer for American Artist magazine, Ralph Fabri was born and educated in Budapest, Hungary.  He earned his B.A. degree at the Royal State Gymnasium, studied architecture at the Royal Institute of Technology, and in 1918, earned his M.A. degree at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.  In 1921, he came to New York and studied sculpture at the National Academy School.

He became associate professor of painting and art history at City College of New York and also taught at the Parsons School of Design, Newark School of Fine Art and Industrial Arts, and the National Academy School.

He served as president of the Audubon Artists from 1952 to 1954, of the National Society of Painters in Casein, and of the Allied Artists of America and was treasurer of the National Academy of Design.  In addition to his writing for American Artist magazine, he was editor of Today's Design magazine and of several books.

Ralph Fabri was born on April 23, 1894 in Budapest, Hungary.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at the Royal State Gymnasium, studied architecture at the Royal Institute of Technology and in 1918, earned his Master of Art degree at the Royal Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts.  In 1921 he came to New York and studied sculpture at the National Academy School.

He became associate professor of painting and art history at City College of New York and also taught at the Parsons School of Design, the Newark School of Fine Art and Industrial Arts and the National Academy School.   He belonged to many art groups and was the book reviewer for American Artist magazine.  He died in 1975.
