This biography from the Archives of AskART:

A Kentucky artist and art educator, he has been a member of the faculty at the University of Kentucky since 1984, serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Art. In addition to his Kentucky landscapes and still-life watercolors, he has created and illustrated many books and constructions.

Foose has had numerous solo and group exhibitions, receiving more than one hundred and fifty first place awards for painting and printmaking. His work was shown in a Retrospective Exhibition im 2002 at the University of Kentucky Art Museum. 

He is a member of several art organizations, and his work is in the permanent collections of the J.B. Speed Art Museum, the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, the Springfield Art Museum, Springfield, Missouri, and in many private and corporate collections.

He owns and operates Buttonwood Press, which he founded in 1968 to publish books of poetry and illustrated books in small editions.
