| | Born in Midway, MA on May 24, 1816. Felch was educated in Boston, learned the printers' trade, and worked there as a journeyman. He made the overland trek to California with the Gold Rush in 1849. After panning on the American River, he settled in Sacramento and opened a sign business. By 1867 he was assistant U.S. assessor. He died in Sacramento on Jan. 24, 1892. Exh: Calif. State Fair, 1961-63.
