| | Born in San Andreas, CA on Nov. 13, 1866. Faville graduated from high school in Buffalo, NY. He then studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1898 he opened an architecture office in San Francisco, and became a close friend and painting partner of Arthur and Lucia Mathews. Most of his watercolor landscapes are size 20" x 26". As an architect, he was on the architectural council of the PPIE of 1915, and in 1922 he gained national recognition when elected president of the American Institute of Architects. He designed and erected many of San Francisco's major buildings: Geary Theater, St Francis Hotel, Bank of America, American Trust Company, State Bldg in Civic Center, Southern Pacific Bldg, as well as the Oakland Public Library and Hotel Oakland. Faville was active in the San Francisco Bay area until his death at his Sausalito home on Dec. 15, 1947. Member: Carmel AA; Bohemian Club; Pacific Union Club; Commonwealth Club; SFAA; Marin Co. AA.
