| Born in Glasgow, Scotland on July 26, 1875, Findlay studied at the Glasgow School of Art and in Paris at Académie Julian under Laurens. He came to the U.S. in 1924 and lived in Canton, Ohio where he painted murals in the Onesto Hotel.
In 1936 he relocated to Los Angeles and remained until his death on Sept. 24, 1960.
