The youngest artist ever to win the Federal Duck Stamp Art contest, Adam Grimm from Elyria, Ohio earned the 2000-2001 Millennial Federal Duck Stamp Contest. He credits Rob Leslie as his first mentor and also admires Carl Brenders, Bruce Miller, Daniel Smith, and Bob Steiner.

Grimm does careful anatomical research on his subjects, using mounted ducks and reference photographs.
