Alex Gonzales was born in the Arizona mining town of Superior on September 2, 1927. He is a painter specializing in abstract human images and landscapes in oil, acrylic and collage.
Gonzales moved to the San Francisco, California area where he graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute. He earned a BA degree in Education from the College of Arts and Crafts, and an MA degree from San Francisco State University.
