Gafford, Alice Taylor (15 August 1886 – 27 October 1981), noted artist, teacher, nurse and community leader was born in Tecumseh, Kansas. She was one of ten children of Benjamin and Alice Armstead Taylor.
In 1910 she began a nursing career after completing a three-year course at Douglas Hospital and a post-graduate year at General Hospital in Kansas City. She served with the Red Cross in Alaska in 1915-16. She worked on private cases in Chicago for the renowned Dr. Da (showing 500 of 6277 characters). |
