| | Born in California on Jan. 29, 1908. After graduation from UCLA in 1929, Gamble studied at Otis Art Institute under John Hubbard Rich. For many years she taught art in the Ojai and Imperial Valley public schools. She received her Masters degree from USC in 1948. By 1952 her married name was Brainard.
