| Born in San Francisco, CA in 1859, the daughter of Domingo Ghirardelli, founder of the famed chocolate factory. Angela began drawing as a pupil of Oakland High School and, at age 12, one of her artworks was awarded a diploma at the Mechanics' Institute Fair. During 1881-83 she studied locally at the School of Design where she was a pupil of Chris Jorgensen whom she married in 1888. Except for two years spent in Italy during the 1890s, she was a lifelong resident of California. After 1899 sum (showing 500 of 935 characters). |
