Betty Gold was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and she studied painting and sculpture at the University of Texas. Gold has resided in Los Angeles since 1977. Although primarily a sculptor, she continues to work in other media, including painting, tapestries and photography.
Her work has been widely exhibited in solo and group exhibitions at museums and galleries including the Milwaukee Art Center, the Oakland Museum and the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana.
