Bruce Gregory (1917-2002)
He painted in both traditional and modernist styles with subjects ranging from landscapes and still lifes to abstractions. Born on June 27, 1919 in Oklahoma, his family later moved to Rye, New York, where he grew up. He studied at the Art Students League under Arnold Blanch and, starting as a young painter, was an active member of the artist colony in Woodstock, New York from the 1930s through the 1960s. He also lived in France from 1949 to 1951 (showing 500 of 1388 characters). |
