Born in Allentown, Colorado, Carrie Greathouse became a painter, known
especially for her oil and pastel landscapes with Texas
bluebonnets. She was also an art educator and promoter of
exhibitions. For several summers, she served as Art Counselor and
Texas Representative for Camp Kinnikinnik, a summer camp for girls near
Manitou, Coloroado. She taught art at Texas Christian University
and for many years had her studio in Fort Worth at 1130 Washington
Avenue.
