| Native American potter Cavan Gonzales is known for his revival of polychrome pottery and black on black pots. Gonzales comes from a family of potters. His mother, Barbara Gonzales, is the great-granddaughter of the potter Maria Martinez. His father's family are potters as well.
Gonzales works in traditional methods though his designs are inspired by both past and present day life.
