ARTIST'S STATEMENT
I have always believed the he deepest root of art is the spiritual. While there may be other criteria by which it is now judged, from the intellectual to the financial, at its most fundamental I feel that it is a yearning for the divine In our lives, an attempt to invoke it, to understand it; to acknowledge it. From prehistoric attempts to call forth animal spirits by marking on cave wails, through medieval cathedral builders trying to pierce Heaven i tself with their towering spires, onto todays self-referential forays into the splatter of popular culture, we are looking for a means to make sense of the senseless, to see beyond what can be seen. For me, art has been a means to come to terms with the mysterious and titanic forces that shape and direct our lives.
