The following is submitted by Don Leon Glasell, son of the artist, September 2003.
Don E. Glasell, painter, etcher, block printer, and teacher was born in Copenhagen Denmark in 1895 and studied art there with private instructors. He came to live with his mother and stepfather in Chicago by shoveling coal on a passenger ship when he was 17 years old.
Don became a student at the at the Art Institute of Chicago and studied with Wellington Reynolds. He then joined an Army artillery u (showing 500 of 5618 characters). |
