Donald Burnette Gooch (1907 Bloomingdale, Michigan – 1985 Ann Arbor, Michigan)
He was a Michigan painter, illustrator and University of Michigan Professor of Art. He was instrumental in developing the School of Art’s advertising program. He retired from the university in 1973.
As a young man he was a sign and poster painter in Detroit. During the 1950’s he created numerous illustrations for advertisements, book covers, film-strips for McGraw Hill Publishing (showing 500 of 2123 characters). |
