| Born in Fort Collins, Colorado on December 26, 1899, Doris Gilmore
studied art at Long Beach (CA) High School under Carol Lewerenz,
continued at Chouinard Art School, and obtained her B.A. degree from
the University of Southern California.
For 35 years she taught art in the Los Angeles public schools. Unmarried, she died in Los Angeles on March 9, 1979.
