| Born in Clymer, New York, Elizabeth Gleason was an art teacher in Evansville, Indiana and Flagstaff, Arizona before moving to Whittier, California in 1909. There she lived in Huntington Park and taught in the public schools there and in Santa Monica.
Her education was the Buffalo Normal School and UCLA, and art teachers included Douglas Donaldson, Ralph Johonnot and Rudolph Schaeffer.
Memberships included the Los Angeles Art Association, and the Southern California Art Teachers Association.
