Biography from Foothills Fine Art:
| Emma Gilchrist founded the Charleston Sketch Club in 1915. She later became a member of the Southern States Art League. She rented studio space a the Gibbes Art Gallery (Gibbes Museum) during the 1920's and also conducted art classes.
