| Born in London, England on April 7, 1899. At age 20 Gaer came to New York where she studied with Leo Lentelli and Robert Laurent followed by study in San Francisco at the California School of Fine Arts under Ralph Stackpole. She was a resident of Sierra Madre, CA in 1929 and Berkeley in the 1930s. By 1937 she had moved to Washington, DC and was an instructor at Green Acres School in Bethesda, MD in 1940. She died in Marin County, CA on November 10, 1996. Her specialty was bas-reliefs in woo (showing 500 of 862 characters). |
