The artist, Frederick Goff, is well known for his many scenes of the
sights of London and the River Thames, especially his small watercolour
views of London, which catch the mood of the late Victorian city.
It almost seemed he had a magnifying glass in hand as he would capture
the minutest of details of the sights and mood of life in late
Victorian times along the
London bridges and outside many famous London buildings.
Like Turner’s views of the Thames, Goff has successfully captured the
bustle of Thames life with all its great architectural landmarks
playing impressive backdrops.
A popular artist, during his lifetime, Goff exhibited frequently
including at the Royal Academy and the Royal Institute of Watercolour
