| Born in Providence, Rhode Island on August 8, 1915, Gleeson studied at the Rhode Island School of Design. After serving in WWII, he spent a year at Mexico City College. He then settled in Berkeley, California, and further studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts. During the 1940s and 1950s he painted scenes of the Oakland area (including a 4 x 8 foot mural at the Boys and Girls Club of Oakland), and taught locally. He died in Berkeley on July 22, 198 (showing 500 of 971 characters). |
