Goddard Gale, a painter of California landscapes and coastal scenes, began his art career in England, where he was born in 1857. He was known to have studied there before moving to America, and settling in San Francisco, California.
While living in California, Gale focused on local subjects for his art. He often used the San Francisco Bay and the Carmel coast for inspiration in his work primarily as a painter. He was a member of the Bay Region Art Association and died in Oakland, Califor (showing 500 of 1371 characters). |
