| Born in Boston, she began art study at the Massachusetts Normal Art
School and then took private lessons from Frank Hector Tompkins, Samuel
Triscott, Robert Vonnoh and Edmund Tarbell. She also studied at the
Lowell Institute. She was active in women's suffrage and was a member
of the Copley Society. Her interest in writing affiliated her with the
National League of American Pen Women and the Author's League in New
York City. She exhibited her paintings at the National Academy of
Design, the Philadelphia Art Club and the Pennsylvania Society of
Miniature painters.
