Born in Italy, he became a much recognized mural and fresco painter in the United States from 1857. Having decorated palaces in Milan, Rome, Verona, and Vienna, he had numerous private commissions including locations in Buffalo, New York City, Syracuse, Milwaukee, Albany, and San Francisco. In New York he did mural decoration for the Grand Opera House and the office building of the New York Tribune.
In 1875, he went to San Francisco where he had a studio in the old Sup (showing 500 of 1681 characters). |
