Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Guy Goodwin earned a BFA from Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama in 1963 and an MFA from the University of Illinois in 1965. He taught Visual Art Painting at Wayne State in Detroit in 1978 and then at the University of Illinois. From 1980, he was a teacher of art at Bennington College in Vermont but was basically active in New York art circles.
He has also been inspired by frequent trips to Chauncey, Ohio, from which he did abstract land-town scap (showing 500 of 1091 characters). |
