A native New Yorker, born in New York City and educated in its public and professional schools, Golden started sketching and painting in his pre-teens. While still in junior high school, he started what became a lifetime of art education when he discovered and was accepted by one of the now-famous WPA art classes of the Depression era. He went on to study at the New York High School of Art and Design but when World War II began, he, like many of his generation, put schooling on hold "fo (showing 500 of 8843 characters). |
