| | Born in Milwaukee, WI on Aug. 21, 1907. Gebhardt studied at the Layton Art School. He was active in his native city before moving to Los Angeles in 1937. He worked on the Federal Art Project and taught locally at Otis Art Institute, Pomona College, and USC. He died in Los Angeles on April 28, 1989. Member: LA Museum Ass'n.
