Biography from The Heritage Society:
Henri Gadbois is a second generation Houston artist (his father was a member of the Associated Artists of Houston in the early 20th century).  Gadbois, a native Houstonian, graduated from Lamar High School and University of Houston, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Letters Degrees.

He has been an exhibiting artist since 1947 and has had exhibitions of his work throughout the state.

His work is in the collections of the Museum of Fine Art Houston, Longview Museum, San Antonio Fine Arts Association, and many public and private collections.

Although his main interest has been in painting the Texas landscape, he is also interested in primitive rug hooking, quilting, and ceramics.  He has also entered the business of creating "faux" food for area museums, including the Heritage Society.

With his artist wife, Leila McConnell, he spends as much time as possible at their home in the Texas hill country in Ingram, Texas, on the banks of the Guadelupe River.
